Just been reading an article on car thefts with keyless entry systems, https://www.honestjohn.co.uk/what-is-ke ... revent-it/# I had thought about this previously and decided to disable the keyless entry on the car settings - a quick solution.

Yanto, if you have time Easter is here take a look at the long attached post covering Keyless Vehicles, if you need more information take a look in “Search”. I have had a “Pouch” for years now and also use a Steering Lock on our QQ just to deter any thieves - Dave 😉

Again on you tube, there are a host of videos by a company called automatrics tracking systems.
Basically they trace stolen cars using their own methods. Very interesting.
It is concerning the number of vehicles stolen by signal cloning.
Your keyless key fob and car system will regularly "ping" each other over a certain distance and thieves use this signal to replicate it as if you are standing within close range to your vehicle. As Dave stated, use a shielded pouch, store them out of harms way, do not leave your keys behind your front door at home and be alert to any strangers with a laptop outside your property or next door to you in a car park.

There is always the Video Cameras & Alarms with a Baseball Bat near the Door 😠 but at least there will be some improvements to the QQ J12 - Dave 🙏

TRACKER SECURITY AS STANDARD : Stolen Vehicle Tracking is introduced for new Qashqai. This service provides a 24/7 contact with police and third-party customer services, with automatic theft notification through the NissanConnect smartphone app, allowing vehicles to be tracked and recovered.
An in-car button, accessed via the NissanConnect display screen, allows customers to contact a 24/7 assistance provider to put them in contact with the nearest breakdown and towing services. Unlike eCall, the system is not automatically triggered by an accident.
In our German Brochure it is stated that a Perimeter Alarm System is Installed :
This perimeter alarm system concentrates on all of the accessible points of your car, like doors, trunk, etc. While leaving the car if any of the points is unlocked they the system enables the alarm. there are several different alarm modes.
