Qashqai Model: Mk.2 Qashqai Facelift - J11b (2017–2021)

Hi all, took possession of a pair of these today from Ebay and as usual they dont fit.
The part that screws into the bodywork at the bottom of the strut is a totally different size to the bolt i have removed, so they are going back.
Question is has anyone ordered a set recently that they could post a link to that actually fit , this is for a j11b 2020 model.
The bolt i removed was a 10mm and the threaded part to replace it was probably 12-13mm.
Cheers if anyone can help.
Thanks Jim.

You must have the wrong Kit, I was part of the Group that Bulk ordered a Batch of Russian Strut Kits Years back and I transferred ours from the QQ J11A to the J11B. If the part you are mentioning is the Ball Stud it should be an M6 Thread, attached for your Ref is a copy of an information sheet 1 which I knocked up, take a look. There are posts also under “Search” - hope it helps Dave 😉

Thanks for reply Dave, i did use the search and it seems the Russian version are no longer available.
So i was just wondering if anyone had recently purchased some and could recommend ones that do fit the j11b as i didn't want to but in error again.
Thanks Jim.

Jim, unfortunately the Web is full of suppliers that are outside of Europe so personal contact is difficult. But with companies like AliExpress normally the parts are OK, some members have recently installed these. Naturally the Amazon / Ebay Ads are also there.
Just to confirm the info’ attached is a Data Sheet from “Gel” on the Forum Kit just for your interest - Dave 😉

It would be useful if you could post the eBay link for the part you bought - so that we can see the problematic one.

I'm unclear about your comment "as usual they dont fit" - I don't recall anyone else buying a set and not being able to fit them. Sounds like you've done it several times!

I bought a set on Aliexpress for my current car (not a Qashqai) and they went straight on without a problem. And all for less than £30...

Another thing - not all Qashqais are made in the UK - it's quite possible that Qashqais made elsewhere are slightly different in their fittings specifications.

Hi gloucester, I have only purchased the one set and the problem part was the nipple, for want of a better term at the bottom of the strut, the bolt i took out was 6mm thread, 10 mm spanner size but the part that replaces it was probably 8mm so I could not fit them. Anyway I have returned them and been refunded so just didn't want to get it wrong again.
So will re order, thanks to you and Dave.
Regards Jim.

Gloucester, are you saying that some UK / European QQ’s are not built in Sunderland because I have not heard that before, is this new information ? - Dave 🤨
The J11-series Nissan Qashqai is built in several Nissan manufacturing plants around the world, including in Sunderland, Tyne and Wear in England, Wuhan, Hubei in China, Saint Petersberg in Russia, and Fukuoka prefecture, Japan. Australian Qashqais are sourced from the Japanese facility. The J11-series has been on sale since 2013, with a mid-series refresh unveiled last year in 2017, so the next model is thought to be coming out in 2020.

It's built in the U.K. and Japan, and North America will get the Japanese-assembled vehicle. The direct-injected engine comes from the Japanese model, but the chassis and suspension tuning will be to mostly European specifications.

The Qashqai has been built at the Nissan Motor Manufacturing UK (NMUK) plant in Sunderland, Tyne and Wear, United Kingdom, since December 2006. It is the first model to be styled by Nissan Design Europe in London, with engineering development led by Nissan Technical Centre Europe (NTCE) in Cranfield, Bedfordshire.

Runrabbitrun, if you ever get stuck you can buy these parts very cheaply from for example Amazon, but you will find more suppliers if you look. Before the Forum bought this Russian Batch we looked at making a Forum Set and I was in contact with UK Suppliers but the Russian Set was just too cheap - Dave 😉

No - I'm saying Qashqais are built in various places over the world and, if there are differences, kits sold on eBay (many of them coming from China) may be intended for Qashqais built elsewhere rather than the UK.
