Curious as to what kind of MPG returns I could expect from either a late model J11B or possibly (Although not sure I can stretch to one) a newer J12.
I still like the J11 so I'm quite happy with one of these either manual or auto

Hi doggie I have a late j11b 1300 petrol, I get average 40/42 round the doors and I got 57 on a 200 mile run, it's a manual and I don't drive it hard.

My trip to work is a mix of motorway and A roads - I regularly get 48mpg
The car is a 1.3 manual 140ps

J11B
1.3 DCT
An example - went to North Yorkshire on Monday. Two passengers and some heavy "stuff" didn’t hang around but stayed within the speed limits, some very heavy traffic. A mix of country lanes, B roads, fast A roads and motorway.
The car's computer said 52.7 mpg

Absolute best, 59.7 mpg on a foggy early morning run to work at Keele University from Stockport during the first lockdown

2019 1.5 Diesel AdBlue

Best to date and was still climbing before I exited the motorway.

Easily does 66 to 70mpg on the way to work on a mixture of A1 and a and b roads.

Never trust the best MPG, I always look at the overall since I have owned the car and at present my 1.6 diesel auto J11 is 39mpg, my best on a single journey is 57mpg
Past cars Mercedes B Class, S Class, E Class Estate, E Class Coupe, G Wagen, 260E interspersed with Peugeot 406 and Audi Coupe.

Yeah cheers @Qashowner my thoughts exactly, this is why I sought “Real world” comments from owners like yourselves?
And yes I should have pointed out it’s the 1.3 petrol both manual and auto I meant sorry.
I just watched a review of the new J12 in manual onYouTube by Autocar, the guy was quoting 20-25mpg?!

Real world, best ever using the "brim-to-brim" method is 54.7mpg on a run home from Cornwall last October.

It’s wise to to beware of the figure that the on board computer calculates but, that said, it’s a reasonable indicator
