i dont think they would have me - it would take me half a day .

to put some perspective on , i'm not a "5 minute " man.

if my boss tasked me a job with the phrase "that will only take 5 minutes" , i would say , well if so you do it then , because i cant .

will post again with feedback from local garages .

best wishes

loved the comments
Service will be at my local Nissan Dealership. West Way Southampton. Does say that while I get it serviced there I an covered by Break Down cover for another year. so maybe not so bad a price ? but I guess all Nissan dealerships offer that. ;)

In those service costs there's a whole organisation to cover the costs for as well, not just the bloke with the spanners.

of course , and so does ATS and all the others , thats why they charge £60/70hr plus .

my point is that nissan charge a lot more than that.

There are far more people work at my local Nissan dealer than work at the local ATS. The size of the Nissan dealer's building in huge and must cost a fortune in glass cleaner.

In years to come time I might consider using an alternative to the Nissan dealer, but for the time being they will be used for the standard service. Brake pads and tyres might be sourced elsewhere but depending how noncompetitive Nissan are on price. On previous cars (this is my first Nissan) I've had more than one main dealer in my location and been lucky with getting them to price match each other.

Have I missed one of the new Olympic catergories :?: . Those estimates are just mental..................................

having a bigger service operation does not mean higher costs , in fact the opposite due to economies of scale.

my estimates may well be wrong , i wont know until i get a competitive quotes.

Our Yaris is due a service next month. For the Minor and Major service Mr T wants £160 and £290 respectively!! Nissan servicing starts to look cheap! :D :D

on those figures it doesn't simmo400. The first service was done early and therefore paid for by the dealer (I purchased second hand). The second service was £250 back in March.

Looking back over the past services on the Yaris, the cost for the major service has gone from £234 to £290 in 2 years and the minor from £129 to £160. It will be done at Mr T as it's still under warranty and it's my preference to keep it like that. After the warranty has expired it goes to a Toyota Independent Specialist (like the Yaris before it).
