Hi there, we needed to replace the two from tyres on our 2014 QQ, wanted to try a different tyre that may possibly last a bit longer, so I brought two Nokian ZLine tyres, got them fitted and as soon as I drove away the steering wheel was off centre and to go in a straight line I had to turn the steering wheel to the left at about the 11oclock position. Now it was perfect before! So went back to the garage and they checked the wheel alignment and it was fine, so they put the original tyres back on and guess what, the steering went perfect again!!! So the garage ordered the same tyres that were on the car originally two continental contisport 5, got them fitted today and guess what, steering went off centre again to the left again at 11 o'clock. So got back home and I swooped the backs to the front and front to the back, and guess what the steering now was still off centre but now to the right at 1 o'clock, So got the garage to check the tracking and they said it was fine again, so they then swopped the tyres from left to right and still made no difference, still off centered to the right!! And they have no ideas what to do now and nor do I!!! The steering is now off centered to the right at about the 1 o'clock, but the car doesn't pull, and goes in a straight line! Any help or advise would be great!! Ryan

That's really odd.

I'd have put good money on it being tracking but you might need the full geometry checked including camber etc.

Sorry can't help other than say take a trip to the dealer and ask them what's changed.

Yes got it sorted in the end, ended up at another dealer but in the end they put a new steering rack on and it sorted it, although wen I got it back the steering wheel was now off to the right, so took it to mate of mine that is a technical manager of a steering alignment manufacturer and installer and he checked the steering and the n/s/f wheel had a massive amount of tow in so Nissan must have a weird way of doing it, but he set it up and now it's bang on!

Cheers. Was it an obvious problem to spot?

Aparantly "the steering rack was bent" but the dealership wanted to replace the steering column as well, but Nissan warranty would only approve the rack. Good luck, I had to really fight for it as most dealers say steering been out by a few degrees either way is "acceptable and within tolerances"

Shite.. That's a big ask for them to replace the rack.. Doubt I will ever get that done my warranty is up later this month though this was down to be looked at so they will honour any warranty once I go back after the warranty finishes

Also seems strange you didn't have a issue BEFORE you put the new tires on??? You said you wanted to swap the tires for a change of brand, but from then on it was a issue. Almost sounds like something happened during them sticking the new ones on.
