Engine revving

When I dip the clutch the engine always goes to about 1250 rpm on the rev counter. It drops after a bit. I asked at the dealer. They said it was Anti stall. Is this correct?

It does appear this may be correct. Take a look at this old post - Dave ;)

Thanks for the quick response. The one thing that differs from my car to all of theirs is they all refer to it being diesel. Mine is petrol. Not sure if the same would apply to a petrol engine.

I don't know about 'anti stall', but it is normal for the qq.

It does apply to my petrol. I have a very light right foot, so have found this feature very useful.

Its almost exactly correct what the Nissan Tec told you with anti stall, after all they should be the ones with the training. This measure is also used to keep emissions low, apparently its not so good to snap the throttle shut.
