I bought some cheap mudflaps and they seem OK. There are self tapping screws and washers supplied but I notice there are no screws to remove on the latest QQ to allow the attachment of the mudflaps. Do the mudflap screws just screw through the plastic of the car and not into metal bodywork?

You dont want to be screwing into any metal part of your car as you will damage the corrosion protection and invalidate any warranties assosiated with that area / part.

OEM mudflats come with metal clips that go over the edge of the plastic trim and these form a base for the self tapping bolts. There should be no need whatsoever to screw into the metal of the bodywork.

I have "imitation" Mud flaps....they look identical to oem' s at 1/4 of the price. The fixing that come with aren't exactly complete, you get 10 self tapping screws/washers. These screw into the plastic trim inside the arch. I also put together 4 small nuts and bolts that fasten into existing holes in the bodywork.

I recently bought a set of mudflaps through AliExpress. Didn't used the screws to attach them since I didn't want to tapp into the metal of the front fenders. Instead I used doublesided adhesive tape and (for the front ones) a tyrep to fix them to an already existing hole in de undercarriage. For the rear ones I also used double sided adhesive tape and 1 selftapping screw underneath (tapped into the plastic of the rearbumper). They fit just fine and look very good.

I have bought some cheap mud flaps for my new QQ Tekna but I have noticed that the seller has a note saying not suitable for the Tekna Pro or + Does anyone know what the difference might be?

Geordieman, when we ordered our Tekna + we ordered Nissan Mudflaps also but when it came to fitting them they would not fit. Our Dealer tried 2 types - No Go !. On the Tekna + the “Black” Wheel & Body Edging has been changed to the newer design which is different and Color Matched and this appeared to be the reason. I have asked our Nissan Stores Guy regularly but they are not available, now as the QQ Range is being reduced it is highly likely they will now never be available, if you find some please let me know - Dave 😉

I have the same problem. I can't find suitable mud flaps for my new Nissan QQ J11B (Color Matched Edging), pearl white. Did anyone find at least the right shape of them, even if is black ? I think i can paint them with a spray or something ( pearl white colour).
