Hi,
I have just put a deposit down on a used 1.5 DCI 2016 QQ (N-connecta). (my first Nissan QQ!) (with 18" alloys)

The car tax in the QQ brochure is quoted as 99gms/km of CO2 meaning it should be zero tax. The same is shown on the dealer screen. However, on the Lookers website it is stated car tax is £20pa and is similar for other QQs in same spec/age. The car is shown on DVLA website as £20 tax, 103gm/km. At the point I made my deposit dealer said it is zero tax, but told me to wait until they receive the car from the compound so they can check

Is the 99gm/km in the Nissan brochure an error?
any advice appreciated.

I'm waiting on collection of the same car - tax is £20. I think what Dave has put up is if the car was registered brand new now - so after the 1st April price hike.

It's all down to wheel size.
The N-Connecta is sold with 4 size options from new, 16" steel and 17", 18" and 19" alloy rims.
The 16, 17 and 18" give the car a CO2 rating of 99gms/km which attracts a VED of £0 for the first year and £0 for subsequent years.
However, the 19" alloys give a rating of 103gms/km attracting a VED of £0 for the first year and £20 for subsequent years. This includes all vehicles registered up until 31March 2017. After that date NEW cars attract a VED as in DaveBerlins post above.

but all states £20 on website for tax, but on dealer screen (not same as consumer website) it says zero tax, but on DVLA says £20 - hence confused!! Its only £20 but all helps in ownership saving.

I assume even if owner subsequently changes 19" to smaller wheel to get the 99 threshold, the DVLA won't amend and always base on the original registration.
I'm on 19" wheels but when registered in 2014 my Tekna was shown as a 99gms car, regardless of wheel size.

beetroot42, ive just seen your other post stating the car is on 18" alloys. If this was the case from new, then it has been tax banded incorrectly. Extremely unlikely. A more likely scenario is that it was first registered with the 19"alloys (attracting VED £20), but either the first owner or the second owner (the dealer you are buying from) have changed them to the 18"rims to make a few quid, as the 19" alloys are quite a bit dearrer to purchase separately. Quite a few original owners did in fact do this as some of them felt that improved the ride quality. My bet is that this has happened. If this is the case though you still have to pay the VED of £20 annually as the CO2 rating of the car is set at the original setting and cannot be retrospectively reduced.

the car I have put a deposit down is an Ex-Nissan owned car, very similar to the link of car I shown earlier.
But the same dealer has quite a few 1.5DCI N-Connecta's in stiock with 18" wheels, surely they were not all changed from 19" to 18" by the first owner??
Is there anything the dealer can do before I sign to buy the car?

I put my question to Nissan CC, they confirmed it is 103 g/km for this model. Therefore, I think the brochure is not correct, as it states 99g/km (zero tax).

They also told me the manufacturing date of my car ordered, and current owner is "Easy Lease UK" - interesting as Dealer tells me its a Nissan owned car!!

Important Update
I queried with Nissan UK CS why the QQ are 103 g/km emissions vs 99 g/km in the brochure for this model of QQ (18" alloys).
They said if the dealer/current owner requests Nissan customer care for written confirmation they will send you a letter confirming the actual emissions which should be 99.
This letter can be passed to DVLA to update the car V5 to 99gms thus getting zero tax.
