Another Rattle Thread (sorry) - Boot area?

Hey all.

New J11 2017 Tekna owner. Love it so far. Would have liked to have waited for the facelift version but the ending of my previous agreement didn't fall right time wise. Next time maybe. Anyway, apart from being a little disappointed (VERY little) that the promised apps for Connect just never seem to have arrived - I'd have liked TuneIn Radio at least to have made an appearance - all seems good. Except for an annoying rattle from what sounds like the boot area somewhere. Solutions tried so far:

1) Tape around the boot catch. No fix.
2) Remove everything from sub-boot (foam casing, tyre repair gubbins etc. and refit. No fix. Although I did find the seemingly obligatory 'free' loose bolt wandering around under the foam. Nice of them to give us Qashqai owners free bolts all the time isn't it?

Before I start driving around with the wife in the back seat with her head in the boot and her backside up in the air - as funny as that may be - any other ideas what could be causing this? I think my searches brought up the two things above as the usual suspects but it wasn't those.

I'll have a look at that. Sounds a little too 'tinny' for it to be something as large as a buckle but I'm not going to discount it without trying it. Thanks for the suggestion.

Try checking parcel shelf lugs properly located.

I'm back. Had a few family issues to take care of. The rattle is still there annoyingly. I'm not 100% sure but from tapping / banging on the hatch area it seems it could be coming from the driver side rear light cluster (the part in the hatch not the part on the main body). How the hell do you get at the thing to see if there's anything loose in there?

While on the subject of rattles, there seems to be quite an annoying one also coming from the nav unit area. Like there's either loose wires behind, or the CD mechanism is vibrating around in there. Anyone else had this type of rattle? Need to try putting a CD in the slot to see if it settles down. Just need to find my CDs first

Hi, you have my sympathy.

Having had my new 2017 n-Connecta for around 2 months I have recently started to suffer from loud rattles somewhere in the back

( although other than that I am extremely please with life in my QQ

). It is especially bad here in North Derbyshire where many roads are a patch work of badly repaired potholes !

I haven't had time yet to remove everything from the boot to see if I can identify what is causing it but hope to try things out at the weekend.

Different car, similar issue... Check for any movement in either of the boot hinges or 'wedge it' and take a test drive to see if the noise stops

Family commitments didn't give me chance to play last weekend, but I did notice that when I had my heavy toolbox loaded in the boot the rattles mostly went away so I'm thinking it's to do with the false floor panels or what's stored beneath them.

The parcel shelf rattles if its not seated correctly, make sure the Lugs are fully forward.
