Caravan towing experiences

Hello, I'm looking for 1.5 qq owners who have experience in towing a caravan. We are looking to get a light weight (1200kg) laden max weight caravan. I know the 1.6 is fine, but is anyone towing with the 1.5? On paper it can tow this weight, but I'm worried about hills... And lack of power... Should I be? Many thanks

I've seen this question asked recently and another caravan owner advised "Our 2014 1.5 Tekna QQ pulls our caravan and its unladen weight is 980kg and max MTPLM is 1180kg; no real problems but you do tend to change gear quite a lot and can struggle up big hills!" So it looks like a 1.6 might be a bit more suitable for you in this regard.

Barney10, just to follow up on the answer from Hound. Just enter "Caravan Towing" in the "Search" Area and there is most likely some comments that will help you from different Posts - Dave
