Hi everyone,
I recently purchased a 1.2 2014 ntec+ (3 weeks ago) and I’m really happy with it except for 1 issue.
Often when I accelerate at fairly low revs (1700-2300rpm) I feel the car juddering/ stuttering, and can see the throttle needle fluttering a bit up and down.
It happens a bit in other gears but is most noticeable in second gear. It doesn’t happen if I press the accelerator a bit more, it happens mostly when I’m lightly using the accelerator.
Is this a characteristic of the car or is it an issue?
Many Thanks, Adam

I have to admit to noticing a very faint irregularity in the power uptake too, only a very very slight 'flutter' but it's there. I added a fuel system cleaner which improved it a bit but I still notice it sometimes.

This has been mentioned before with the 1,2 L but do not forget it has a Turbo so just give it a few more revs and a bit of Welly and you will I am sure find a difference. For me using more revs it pulls very strongly - Dave

Hi there thanks for both of your replies.
Yes I’d read somewhere else about using a fuel cleaner so I’ll give that a try.
Oh yes it does pull when I put my foot down, it’s just when pulling off slowly that it likes to judder a bit, I think the cold seems to make it worse.
Many Thanks, Adam

I have this with the 1.5 diesel as well. I thought it was just me getting used to the car.. maybe something to do with a heavy foot or poor clutch control. When it happens it makes you think you can't drive properly!

Hi there,
No definitely not anything to do with clutch control, I’ve noticed it in every gear now and happens between 1500-2000rpm when I’m light on the accelerator.
I have some fuel injector cleaner arriving so I’ll let you know if that makes it better.
Many Thanks, Adam

Hi everyone,
So I had my car in at Nissan Northwich and they said the juddering was caused by a loose timing chain so they have changed that and the pre-tensioner and so far it feels all sorted!
I wasn’t too happy that there was no courtesy car available seeing as though I’ve only had the car for a month but nevermind!
Many Thanks, Adam

I'm having the same issues with our J11. The amber light came on the other day as well together with the dreaded start/stop fault. Managed to drive it to the service with regular limp-mode events on the way.
Anyway, they finally diagnosed it as chain tensioner fault and we are now awaiting replacement. Finally, after 2 years of juddering and resultless diagnosing.
Really hope this solves it.
