Hello,
I have 2017 Qashqai (Tekna model), I just noticed once car is ON, we don't need the car keys to be in the car for driving.
I could drive around estate with the "Key not present warning", is it Normal behavior ?.I thought it would not move if there is no key present
within the car. Is it not serious security flaw?, especially when we start car in cold morning for warming?.
Regards
CS

It is normal. Regarding possible theft during warming up a cold vehicle, your insurance company most likely wouldnt pay out in such a case as you would have given the thief the means to steal the car.

These attachments from the J11A might help. As gvmdaddy has mentioned it appears to be normal, but we in Germany get „Nicked“ if we leave the motor running and are outside the vehicle plus some smart guy just might jump in - Dave :)
