2018 - 1.2 petrol - mpg - does it get better once engine has ran in ?
700 miles on the car now in the last 14 days.. Overall mpg as per the obc is 28.5mpg. (Which was reset at about 200 miles following having engine at idle etc..)
Does the mpg get better once more miles are in this engine ? Hope so ! Managed best so far of 40mpg as per trip 1 on a 40 miles motorway run.
Thanks

Yes, the mpg should improve as the weather gets warmer, RickT.
My previous QQ (2014/J11A) was purchased in November 2014. The range on a full tank of petrol was approximately 410 miles during the winter months, which improved to 470 and as high as 510 in the summer months. By winter 2016/17, the range had increased to 450/460 miles. Best mpg was 55 in the summer time. Lows of 30 mpg around winter.
My current QQ (2017/J11B) was purchased in September 2017. The first time I filled it up with petrol, the range was 470 miles. I filled up last week and the range has dropped to 440 on a full tank.
The best mpg so far is 51 which I achieved a few weeks after purchase and a few hundred miles on the clock.
Driving to work today (approximately 5 miles) it only achieved 31 mpg. The return journey (same route in reverse) it did 44 mpg - that was with the heated seats on too! Living near the coast, you can guarantee windy conditions and today was no exception (45mph gusts) and that always impacts on the mpg along with the ambient outside air temperature.
Roll on spring/summer!

Mine has 16000 miles on it, I travel 16 miles each way to work on open roads some 30 mph villages but no traffic. I once achieved 44 but normally between 34 and 36. I don't drive hard but this is a long way from the claimed mpg.
2016 1.2 Ink Blue with glass roof.
Not in my experience current Tekna 2016 QQ consumption is much worse than the 2014 that preceded it, although it's markedly "quicker" than the asthmatic 2014 1.2.
Do wonder if it's not helped by the bigger wheels/tyres, constant 70 on a level motorway, lucky to see 30-35mpg

RickT, you got me thinking about the question of petrol consumption. I never look around for the cheapest prices and do not try to achieve more mpg’s, I just drive the QQ. We live on the outskirts of Berlin so most of our trips are local, but does include a couple of long trips where we got 56mpg. I do note and check the mileage between Tanking and last night I calculated our consumption over the 3,5 year period and the Av was 33mpg - Hope this helps Dave

I had a 2014 1.2 petrol manual acenta premium. I had it from new and it had done 22,000 miles of mixed driving but I would say more short runs and when I sold it last October it had averaged 43.2 MPG. I now have a new 1.2 Tekna but Automatic and it has done 2000 miles since October and I've averaged 38.1 mpg.
