Afternoon all. I have a 1.2 DIG-T 115 Tekna first registered on 14.5.16. It then spent several months in a dealer's storage yard until I bought it on 24.2.17, when it had just 50 miles on the clock. It had a Nissan minor service on 25.5.17 (this was part of the sales agreement) by which time it had done 2,379 miles.

It's now coming up to its service anniversary, and has done 8,570 miles. Other than an intermittent fault on the rear camera (which seems common, especially in the rain, and is something I'll mention when I get it serviced) I've had no problems with it.

My question is, as it's done so few miles - and has been driven regularly for less than 15 months - is it worth going for a major service, or just another minor one, saving its first major 'til this time next year? Any thoughts/comments welcome

can u have another minor service and still hold a warranty, i would guess not.

I get you point and to me it makes total sense, but to nissan, it would not, as they would be loosing money and with a large corporation they will be totally rigid in what the service requirements were. I bet if you did not drive the car at all they would still insist on a major service.

Does say something when over a 2 year period our 1.2 Dig-T Qashqai costs more to service then the 3.0 M140i.

A major service is a minor + brake fluid, air filter. Brake fluid degrades over time regardless of mileage.

The saga of mine is ongoing. During the time it was in for service I was sent a video accompanied by a list of "Urgent work required" priced at £783.92 with an "authorise" button to press. I didn't of course. The three things identified were ones I'd already cited as warranty issues. And they are sorting them under warranty:

Steering Column Lower Bush Noisy. New Req. = £43.98
A/c Condenser Leaking. New Req. = £434.62
N/s/r Wheel Corroded. Photos Sent To Warranty/ New Wheel Req = £305.32

It's going in next week to be seen to.

It's a scam of sorts however it's done as if you actually look at what actually gets done it's mostly checks, bar changing oil and filters etc it's all inexpensive stuff but still not cheap to buy

Until last year I owned an M140i and I bought a 5 year service plan for around £700 .. its was a black Friday deal and it should have been £900 ish .. this in reality gave 1 Minor & 1 Major service as the M140i had an on condition service interval or 2 years.

I suspect the M140i will be a tad more expensive to run and service.

I really missed that car, but my wife hated it as it was to fast. 350Hp in a small hatchback is intoxicating. it was not so much the 0-60 .. it was the 50-100mph that was astounding.
