Coolant Level

Sorry daft question to ask. Just bought my new 1.6 from a main dealer. I checked the coolant bottle to find the coolant was slightly above the MIN line. I called the dealer. They said this was normal and will not need a top up. When the engine gets hot then the coolant level will rise to the MAX. Is this normal with my 15 plate Qashqai?

Just have a look when the engine is warm and see how it is then. But all between min and max is ok

I just had my engine replaced, so brand new engine filled with brand new coolant to the correct level. After a few miles, I noticed the level was well below the min, took it back to them in case there was a leak or anything and they said a brand new fill could have lots of air bubbles, so they topped up about an inch above the max to account for future air bubbles and I drove away
A day later, it was down below the min again, so I was still worried about a leak and went to top it up myself. When I unscrewed the cap off the tank, there was an almighty hiss and release of air and the level rose back above the max!
Did this a couple more times, releasing air. But now it's stayed level for a week, so seems good now.
So just try unscrewing your coolant cap, you may find it's just trapped air needs releasing.
