Global warming or is it the car version of spontaneous combustion
Good to see no one was seriously hurt.

Just had a thought, I wonder if this has an relation to the new R1234yf gas used in air-conditioning as its flammable.
No idea, however if I remember well, I think inflaming of R1234yf gas was caused by impact during a car accident.
Nissan claims that there wasn't any car (J11) burnt because of construction fault. I'm just asking myself, who will ever be able to confirm the root cause of the fire?

The flammability issue has attracted a lot of attention, prompting the industry to conduct some serious third-party testing. The bottom line is this: The refrigerant will burn, but it takes a lot of heat to ignite it and it burns slowly. Almost every other fluid under the hood will light more easily and burn hotter than R1234yf, so the industry has determined that with proper A/C system design, it does not increase the chances of fire in the vehicle.

Daewar, I am not so sure you were around on the Forum when I posted on the R1234yf in 2014. This caused and is still being highlighted regarding the dangers of Explosion, Fire and the Gas it produces. Just in case I have 2 extinguishers in our QQ as a back up. It could well have been the Air Con Fluid but normally it is when an accident ruptures a pipe - Dave
