Forgot to close the bonnet!!!

Morning all,

Just had to re-subscribe (not sure what happened to my old identical account name) but that's another story.....

Yesterday after replacing all the discs and pads on my Qashqai+2 I forgot to close the bonnet as I took a drive down to the recycling centre to dispose of the old parts.

About a mile from the house the bonnet flipped up and back on itself. Luckily I was on a straight road and it was clear so was able to stop safely and pull in.

The bonnet is mangled, the circular hinge connection parts are torn and the bonnet has a selection of dents all over it. Luckily I had a roof box on the car and that took the brunt of the impact probably saving both the windscreen and the panoramic roof!!!!

The two wings by the bonnet hinge are looking a little worse for wear too but I definitely need to source a new bonnet so I can get the family car back on the road.

I submitted a parts request last night on part finder on the off chance there's a white J10 with a decent bonnet parked up somewhere but in case there's not I would like to know if any of you could recommend any after market body panel manufacturers?

Any suggestions welcome!!!!

(The cost saving job has now turned into a very expensive pita!!!!!)

Are there any "after market body panel manufacturers"? I wouldn't have thought there was sufficient demand for someone other than Nissan to tool up for such a large panel?
