Nissan operate your car's warranty not the additive seller. The odd fill of a premium diesel would be a better bet.

Interesting how Nissan told you not to.
On my last 2 services at Nissan there's been a small amount on the invoice , £10ish, for "fuel additive + cleaner".

So they tell us not to do it ourselves, but then add it and charge you at the service. Typical.

Nissan use Techron they do a fuel service which simply involves putting this in the fuel you can buy it for both Deisel and Petrol
https://www.nissan.co.uk/ownership/niss ... epair.html

I have purchased and used my self it has definately improved my engine runs smoother and increased ecceleration, I do not see better fuel consumption.
I purchased my first bottle because my engine felt a little sluggish pulling off after using this I no longer have that problem so it must of cleaned some parts.I have 2 more bottles in my cupboard

And sold in bottles that look exactly like the ones Forte use. I have used Forte products for over a decade, good quality stuff imo.

Not sure if you are referring to the Techron being in a simlar bottle to Forte bottles but if so I do not think they are related, Techron is owned by Chevron, which owns the Texaco brand,Forté UK are a division of ITW Automotive Aftermarket Additives UK.
When you look at the market for these product there are many similar product in bottles that look alike.
There are many products on the market and they all claim to do more or less the same thing, most are on average around the same price give or take a couple of £.
I think it is a case of just put what you believe works in your fuel or do a little research and make your choice that way, as some will say if you simply use the premium fuel at the pump shell V power, BP Ultimate these will actually do the same job as the additive, I am not convinced just using a tank of premium fuel every now and then works though more a case of use it at the pump every fill up or at least every other fill up

The reason I mention the Techron is simply because it is being used by Nissan so they must of run tests to check it does no damage and must also have some benefit to there engines.
And I have used it myself so can actually say I did get some benefit from it, I did see improvements from Techron, I have tried other brands in the past and not really noticed any difference however that was in different cars and they were Petrol compared to my Diesel I am driving now

There is a very good Techron report that was made in 2013 it can be found here: https://www.fleetnews.co.uk/news/2013/5 ... 76-/47124/
