My Qashqai (65 Plate) connect system has now developed a similar problem, keeps restarting and says 'insert update media' then restarts, nothing works, contacted Nissan UK via email, got a response next day, they then contacted me via phone after a couple of days, when I explained the problem they acknowledged the problem was a software issue and were addressing it then promised to contact me again in approx 4-5 weeks, it needs all drivers with the same problem to contact them, this may probably spur them on to resolve this issue
Hi all,
I have also been experiencing the EXACT same problem as have been stated, when I had my service they were not really cared about it, they said they'd update it, (at surprisingly high cost) and that did...... nothing at all! so still have the problem, and it causing so so much frustrating when driving and on the phone for work when in the car. Anyone come up with a solution?
Also, if I went to buy a second hand head unit, fitting it would be fine, but does it have to be re-coded to the car at a dealer or is this something I can do at home? thanks

We have had exactly the same problem on our 2015 Model which is now out of warranty. The software update failed to fix it. The dealer submitted a request to Nissan for a new unit F.O.C as a good will gesture. They have declined. I'm assuming a non mechanical electrical part that costs thousands of pounds should last longer then 3 1/2 years and if so by refusing to replace it Nissan are in danger of breaching the sale of goods act. Has anybody had any joy taking them to task over this?
Thanks
Thanks

You need to complain to Nissan HQ direct quoting the post thread here. They have a newer better (perhaps) software update.robertsoptom wrote: ↑Fri Jul 05, 2019 12:02 pm We have had exactly the same problem on our 2015 Model which is now out of warranty. Pleasure. They should contact you shortly with instructions to contact a dealer for free update. The version that has very recently been issued is D605 I understand. It appears to fix the long ongoing problems according to very recent posts on this site.robertsoptom wrote: ↑Sat Jul 06, 2019 9:54 am Thanks calnorth. I've started the complaint process this morning. Hi
I am having the same issues with my 14 plate qashqai. After around an hour the unit will just randomly switch off and back on after around 30 seconds. I rang Nissan HQ to be told someone would ring back within 48 hours and 2 months later still haven't heard back from them.

I think that the current advice is to contact your local Nissan dealer. You should be able to book the updated software fix.pcorless1984 wrote: ↑Tue Jul 16, 2019 9:37 pm Hi
