OK unless you are in Austria or Luxembourg apparently?chosan wrote: ↑Mon Oct 22, 2018 7:26 amNo problem. Have you heard about enable/disable in settings?RVW wrote: ↑Mon Oct 22, 2018 7:16 am Slight problem with them being include with the car from manufacturer. It seems some ( not all) do not allow them

So disable doesn't work there.RVW wrote: ↑Mon Oct 22, 2018 8:01 amOK unless you are in Austria or Luxembourg apparently?chosan wrote: ↑Mon Oct 22, 2018 7:26 amNo problem. Missed out Portugal
It would work in Luxembourg but not in Austria or Portugal as it apparently illegal to use or own in those countries

No head unit is permitter to show any form of video to the driver whilst driving, unless its during the act of parking, which would be low speed. Hence the cameras turn off above 7 or 8 miles an hour'ish speed. Some vehicles, notbly RangeRover have a system with apolarized display that means fro the drivers seat you only see the usual controls display, but from the passenger seat you can watch a film.
But yes there are 5 cameras on the Qq, so why not have a better resolution and be ble to utilise them fully to be ble to record too. Though this would require a reasonably large storage device.

Yes, but the camera's mounted on the windscreen to the left of the rear view mirror, so I can readily see it.

Can't see mine either, motorola incidentally, but then its hidden from view behind the mirror, also on the left. But it also has a setting to turn the display off but still be running. As I'm sure most do.
Can say i don't ever leave the house without it though. The West Midlands is mental and I've captured some very funny and very scarry moments with mine. I'd recommend everyone have one.

If nissan were to implement a system that could record and basically replace any dashcam then I'm sure it would be an added extra at a ridiculously high cost, which would massively exceed the cost of just buying a dedicated dashcam.
Myself and many others have hard wired their cams so that they come on with ignition and go of when car is turned off. I never have to touch it, or think about it. It just sits there quietly and does it's job.

Well, simply put, sometimes having a dash cam will reduce your insurance as you can read here https://www.racshop.co.uk/advice/will-a ... -insurance
This could even work with a dash cam which you literally just went out and spent £10 on I think, so even if you didn't use or didn't care about your dash cam, it's more just about the fact that you have one in the first place.
