Silly question - but we have all round cameras on some Qashqai models - cant Nissan give us a simple record-to-memory-stick option in the car system software ?

I dont want to slap an ugly camera on the inside of my windscreen - when there are multiple cameras sticking out in all directions already.

Give me an option to use a usb stick in the central storage bin connector between the seats that simply records on the stick until full and then records over the oldest journeys as it goes.

If I need to pull out footage to prove it was the idiot that pulled out into me - it is there in the central storage bin ready to go with a 4 way feed of the cameras left/right/front/back.

C'mon Nissan - at least work it in to the next model release.

Resolution isn't very good on the on-board cameras. They don't record sound. They can't be redirected.

I have TWO built-in forward-facing cameras on the Ignis - but they're used for collision detection and lane departure warnings. Could be used for 3D dashcamming!

I emailed Nissan Customer Services earlier this year about this very subject and mentioned it could be a selling point since Insurance Companies would reduce premiums with onboard recordings available. I have a front and a rear camera on my car and now I wouldn't be without them. Nissan didn't even bother to reply.

Here are a couple of comments which might be interesting - Dave :D

I am not sure if anybody read this old post related to a Nissan JukeCam in 2017 :

There was also similiar comments from an AutoExpress article regarding the camera use from Qualcomm :

Slight problem with them being include with the car from manufacturer. It seems some ( not all) do not allow them

No problem. Have you heard about enable/disable in settings?

"UK - Cannot show footage/view of road while driving"

Well that's news to me!

Think you have read that incorrectly or not read it?
It says cannot show footage/view WHILE DRIVING which means in my book anyway, you cannot watch live pictures as a DRIVER. The same as you cannot watch a video player showing a film etc whilst driving. Perfectly OK if you are a PASSENGER.
