Can someone who has bought and fitted these struts recently in the UK post a link to a supplier, preferably a UK one. Thanks

Geordieman, there actually does not seem to be many UK Suppliers of a “Bonnet / Hood Strut Kit”. The main suppliers are AliExpress / EBay / Amazon Suppliers. Our Kit from the Forum Bulk Buy was from Russia and they are still operating excellently after 5 years, the Hydraulic Struts I believe are the key. The most I found were Chinese Suppliers, but for a minimal Outlay they are worth a try - Dave

If you have already ordered then OK, but regarding a possible UK supply I did buy mine from Amazon.



Which worked OKish in that they would lift the bonnet with finger tip assistance and keep it up once upright and far easier than lifting by original un-assisted manual process, but I really wanted to start the process of lifting with a quick lift from the bottom unlock position & then let it do the rest completely by itself to fully upright with no assistance from me at all after that, so upgraded the gas struts to these.



Unfortunately these specific ones do not appear to be available now, but you can see the details for Total Length 500mm, Stroke Length 205mm and Eject Force 310 (N).

Using these gas struts with the brackets I had purchased previously does exactly what I wanted.

Looks like a delivery problem from AliExpress!

Still no sign of the gas struts I ordered from AliExpress. Checked their Facebook page and there are loads of complaints. Best to avoid them, I wish I had.

When did you order them? Is the order already expired?
I have that sometimes and contact them just before to signal I didn’t received anything. You will most certainly get a useless reply like « be patient my friend » or « go ask in your local post office » yeah right...
When the order expires you open a dispute and claim for a full refund without resend and you will get all your money back within no-time.
This said, I had my struts from Ali without any problems.

Geordieman, Good News that you have them. This job of the installation is so simple that it basically takes minutes. I am sure that if all functions work correctly you will be a Happy QQ Owner. PS : Pump the Struts a few times on the floor before Assembly !
Sometimes these long deliveries happen with AliExpress, but it is the same situation with Amazon when you see long delivery dates normally they are from the PRC - let us know you feelings on the Strut Function Dave
