Seems it's merely age related not mileage related, but you need to do a bit more investigation.

Thanks Gloucester. I will have a dig around and will ask my garage what they think. I will also ask the dealership that I will be test driving the car at to check the condition of the belt just to be on the safe side. It’s not like cam belt can tell how many years it’s been driven if clock will not show 75k miles until next owner probably lol

I have a 67 plate 1.2 t CVT and it now has 6000 on the clock. I get over 40 mpg and in warmer weather was getting 49 around town and on dual carriageways doing about 65 mph. There must be a reason why you are getting only 24 - 29 mpg as that is far to low.

Hi, Before i Purchased mine i tried 1.2/ 1.5 and 1.6 i choose 1.5DCi , have had it a year now local mileage mid 50mpg and long runs 65 plus, yes the cambelt needs to be replaced 75000 or 5 years , but Zero road fund licence , the only issue i have had was various faults showing but turned out to be Battery, replaced no problems now , unit has plenty of Torque pulls well, if you check the Forum on 1.2 unit had major problems with oil usage, Very pleased with mine no regrets enjoy driving mine.

Hi guys,

So I done my motorway run for the first time in my 1.2 and I managed 37mpg however I’m barelly ever driving at a steady peace and being on the motorway so won’t be getting that again any time soon. I also tested 1.5 dci before decided to go for 1.2 however found biting point far too high and stole it 3 times before I even managed to takie it out for a drive so that put me of at the beginning haha. What an embarrassment.

This afternoon I went to test drive 1.5dci yet again just different car and I loved it. I took it for a spin on the town roads in afternoon traffic as well as motorway and I was really pleased with. Diesel barely got used. I was surprised how quiet engine was as I thought it would be much louder compared to 1.2 petrol. 1.5dci qashqai was great to drive with good speed kick (tried 90mph for few min on a motorway extension with barely any cars on it - don’t panic) and no stick shuddering when gears changed too soon(as per their gear shift change indicator which is useless I think). This morning I remembered to check date on battery but of course as a woman I was more excited to try yet another new toy than check for important things oops. I can still do it at the time of pick up. I Just have to wait for finance to switch over from first car to the new one.

Thank you for all your input. I’m excited for getting new more powerful set of wheels however don’t want to jinx it by praising it too much just yet :D
