Hello,

I picked up my new Qashqai Tekna 1.3 DIG 140 on 1/11/18 and wondered if I should have the latest console installed . Having read through this excellent forum, I've seen other owners on here who picked up their Qashqai in November and do have the latest version. As per my attached pic I do not have the latest one. Would anybody be able to let me know if this is right ?
Thought I'd check before following up with Nissan customer services. I've got to contact them anyway as I've discovered I have the Version 2 map SD card installed (25920 4KJ0D E ) and should have had a newer version provided at the time.

Thanks

Simon

Test drove one the other day. Showed new console with Android and no SD card required. Reliably informed ALL new models (Oct 18) have new console. However not checked model numbers just replying off the cuff. Just wondering when your QQ was manufactured/registered.

Simon, unfortunately you do not have the newest system. The way to tell us if the 'skip forward' and 'skip back buttons are separate and on the right hand side, as shown in the pic below. You have the older non-Android Auto and CarPlay version.

Yes, sorry I might have worded my question badly, I've seen other members on here who have the new system who picked their qashqai up in the same month as me (November 18), just wanted to check if I should have the newer one after finding this out, and also the press release and brochure for my version tekna advise of the newer console

Mont999, this is definitely not the New Connect for the Tekna there is an the updated version as shown by QashqaiGuy. I had the same problem with our Dealer recently when he showed me the same Connect System and I told him this was not the New Version. Not until I sent him pics from the Forum Posts did he believe me. This is one of the Big Pluses of being a Forum Member there are so mainly facts which obviously help when buying. Let’s hope you get it sorted but how is the question - Dave 😉

Mont999 - there were two issues of the newest brochure for cars with the new engines, one issued in September (dated September 2018 - downloaded 12 September 2018) and one in December (dated November 2018 - downloaded 13 December 2018 when first notified about it). The earlier one showed the old system.

Unless you have made it a specific condition of the sale I can't see that you have any grounds for action. When you placed your order the brochure then available would have been showing the old system.

Thanks for clarifying that, I only had a brochure for the 1.2 Tekna at the time, I made my order via a broker who told me about the 1.3 tekna coming out in a months time so I decided to pre-order one of those, but I'm sure when I read online the 1.3 tekna would have the newer connect features. I'll call nissan today anyway as I should have been given a more up to date version of map

It was certainly thought that all the updates would be applied in one go - but in this case they weren't. I had a "partially updated" Skoda Fabia in 2004 with only some of the update features - fortunately in that case the desirable ones!

I wonder if it's possible Nissan had part built cars awaiting the new engines but otherwise as the "old" model?
