Radio cuts out for 20 seconds regularly

Hi all, I've developed a problem on the QQ Mk 2 1200 Tekna, the radio system cuts out randomly for almost exactly 20 seconds at a time. It will loose radio reception, phone Bluetooth connection etc, before regaining it. Sometimes it causes a full system shut down and restart. It sometimes happens once in an hour, sometimes 10 times. Any ideas what to start looking at?

I checked some previous posts, and I last had software updated 2 years ago, but I've done a test in turning off Bluetooth and it still happens, so I don't think its my phone causing it.

Just seen some posts about this saying it's a DAB signal change that's caused the problem. Anyone found a solution other than using FM?

Try turning off traffic updates

Complain to your dealer, especially if you are still under warranty.
Even if that only starts a record of a problem with the radio, etc.

If you turn traffic updates to silent, rather than off, they interrupt the radio with the update, but you don't hear it because the sound on them is turned right down.

Same problem here (1.5d 2016 model) - I sent this description below of fault to my dealer; They had a look at it & did software update. But I've still got the problem so clearly not related to update. I await their response now to see how they will fix it (still under warranty)


Media unit keeps (intermittently) cutting out; Usually after approx. 15-20 minutes. When (if) it cuts out, whatever is playing (Beit DAB, Bluetooth, USB or CD) stops playing for approx. 25 seconds, after which it resumes. During this period, on DAB, a "Station is currently not available" message is displayed. After the initial cut out, it is then more common for the unit to keep cutting out during the journey; sometimes several times in quick succession. And it seems that after about 8 or 9 cut outs, the unit 'reboots' as it switches itself completely off, and restarts with the Nissan logo.

Hi seems to be quite common, my Nissan dealer has told me that they have been told not to do any further updates as they are not working. A new one is on the way and i have joined the waitng list - though they are unable to tell me how long it will be. This was about 3 weeks ago.

Same here - also the Satnav cuts out when the radio restarts. Not under warranty so unless anyone has any good ideas looks like I'm stuck with it!

they booked it in for 5th July , After waiting 10 months .
