Hi all, new here
Im thinking of buying the Qashqai as it seems perfect for me , its comfty , is big enough, and most importantly on the test drives i did ( long and short) it was quite which is important as i have a hearing condtion which can be made worse by a lot of wind or tyre noise. Its big enough for my Dog. And i have read and been told its fairly cheap to run. I do around 350 miles a week.
I wanted to hear from owners to find out if the Qashqai really is as good as iv read on review sites?
How reliable are Nissans? ( i know there not as reliable as Toyota but how good\bad are they) i would be buying outright and i only keep a car in warrenty.
Thinking of getting a Qashqai?

OK, then ur talking about the new DCT geearbox and relatively new engine. The new gearbox, according to reviews, is very good. The engine is also quite an improvement on the prior 1.2 engine and is also being fitted in Mercedes A class cars which should suggest it's a strong unit too.
The engine ur looking at is a stronger version than mine... and I'm loving mine. This is my 3rd QQ in a row and the best by far. With a warranty to cover u, you should be covered nicely. Keep on top of tyre pressures and oil levels and that will help with running costs. The rest is all down to how heavy ur with ur right foot.
If you are desperate for Android Auto/Apple Carplay then make sure you make it a condition of sale.

It's the same engine as yours isn't it? Petrols only come in 1.3 140 and 160 forms.

10Nm extra torque for the DCT so something somewhere is different.gloucester wrote: ↑Sat Apr 13, 2019 7:43 pm It's the same engine as yours isn't it? Petrols only come in 1.3 140 and 160 forms.

SaraK, as you mentioned you appear to be looking for a QQ with a Petrol engine, Auto Gearbox and New. For example have a look in the “Search” Area as there are lots of comments on the New QQ.
Please be aware that the Old J11A model is still filling up some Forecourts and being offered at Low Prices but this has the Older engine and is Dirty, also the older models have the CVT Gearbox which again has a problem history, this can also be found under “Search”. I have recently driven the new 1,3L 160PS Version with the new DCT 7 Speed Gearbox and it is very nice.
Hope this helps Dave

SaraK - what DaveBerlin means is that he is completely hooked on getting a new one, and we're all just wondering when he'll actually commit!

Sarah, I like my QQ CVT as it is comfortable and easy to drive but I am not sure if I will get another as there have been too many problems reported about them and the dealer back-up doesn't sound very good either. My previous cars have been Kia and Hyundai with 7 and 5 year warranties respectively and I will be going back to look at them for the longer peace of mind that they give. Honest John website only gives the QQ 3 rating but does state the latest engine and auto are better. https://www.honestjohn.co.uk/carbycar/n ... hqai-2014/
2020 Tekna 1.3 DCT Auto, Pearl Black, Pan Roof, Heated Screen, ss door sills, Chrome door handle covers, ss Reg Plate frames, Gas Bonnet struts, chrome wheel nut covers, black side protection strips.
Interesting , im also considering the hyundai Tucson and the Skoda Karoq. I have tested a lot of small Suv's and the only three that i liked were the Karoq, Qashqai, Tucson.Geordieman wrote: ↑Sun Apr 14, 2019 10:09 am Sarah, I like my QQ CVT as it is comfortable and easy to drive but I am not sure if I will get another as there have been too many problems reported about them and the dealer back-up doesn't sound very good either.
