Running Wheel

We have just purchased a year old Qashqai and, as you may know, it is just supplied with an inflator kit. Intending to travel through France in the next month or so we want to purchase a space saver wheel for it.
However, I've just learned that the model is known as Qashqai Closed Off Road with 19" rims. Will a standard space saver wheel fit the car?

56up, welcome to the Forum I can see you are a new member so please try to use the “Search” Area as there are loads of previous posts on this subject and it just saves “re-inventing the Wheel” and going over the same subject. Try using different subjects in “Search” to find what you need, attached are a couple of posts as an example for you to look at and to get you going.
The name of the QQ (closed of Road) I have never heard of, but we have the Tekna with the 19” Diamond Cut Alloys and the Std Nissan Space Saver Wheel fits, but please remember this is basically an “Emergency Wheel” eg. to get you home - Dave

Might want to check up on what you legally have to have in the car when driving in France.

56up, Noddy raised a good point but there does not seem to be a law regarding “Gunk” use or a Spare “Space Saver” Wheel. Again remember this is a temporary Wheel to get you to “B” and not for long speedy journeys on the Motorways. If you have Alloys and use the “Gunk” you will find the Tyre Merchants do not like cleaning this Gunk off the Alloys and also it blocks the TPMS Valves which then also need replacing and cost. I'm sure you have to have a high vis, spare bulbs & warning triangle atleast, by law when driving in France Dave.

Noddy, Correct ! these are some of the facts that are stated on the RAC Attachment - did you read it ? - Dave

When driving in France you are required by law to carry the following items:

Reflective jackets (one for each occupant, these must be kept inside the vehicle within easy reach)
Warning triangle (compulsory in every vehicle with 4 wheels or more)
Headlamp beam deflectors (depending on your car, you will either need deflector stickers or have to adjust the beam manually)
Breathalysers/alcohol test (as of January 2013 the French government announced that the introduction of an €11 fine for not carrying one has been postponed indefinitely, however, law still states that drivers of motor vehicles and motorcyclist must have an alcotest ready for use in their vehicle even though no penalty will be imposed if they cannot present one during a police road check)
A GB sticker (or ‘euro’ registration plates featuring the GB initials)
Spare bulbs - by law you’re also mandated to carry a spare bulb kit for your vehicle, as the French police deem it necessary to replace it there and then on the grounds of safety. For a few pounds to buy a kit, you could avoid unwanted attention and a fine.
Snow chains may also be needed in some areas during winter. These areas will be indicated by signs and are compulsory, so it is worth having them in your car if your visiting during winter.
