Has anyone done a condensor replacement themselves on their Qashqai? I'm trying to find any sort of video or guide to help me get started as I want to replace my condensor which is out of warranty. The AC has been confirmed as fully empty.

I'm guessing the longest and hardest part would be front bumper removal? then straight forward access to condensor?

It would be even more fantastic if anyone is around London or knows a good specialist who's done these before.

Iceze, I think you will find that most members that had the Air Con Problem jumped on the Bandwagon and got Nissan to replace the Condenser under Guarantee like we did. This is what ours looked like with the Front Area missing. If you cannot do it yourself you need to look around for Specialist in your area of London for advice or let them do the job of course at a price - Dave 🙂

Hi Dave
Unfortunately my car is out of warranty. I did try dealers and even calling Nissan UK but they didn't budge as my car is nearly a year out of warranty.

I have had Nissan quote me about £230 just for labour to replace. Parts and gas on top.

I have already bought a new condensor and and just trying to find someone around London to fit it for me. I am considering fitting myself but without a guide I'm a little apprehensive.

This might help, though I suspect you will need other pages as well to remove all the parts needed. Not a specialist job by any means, just time consuming. Make sure the air con is properly emptied, as it can be harmful.

Its a good idea to find an air con specialist first...to test the Condenser Unit for leaks.

One of the main enemies of air con systems is moisture ingress. That means the system should be kept sealed up really while disconnected. A typical casualty of the replacement process will be the drier unit anyway.

Gassing:
If you search google with the following term you should get returns in London....your area. Mobile fixers should show?

Iceze, if you are interested I have just found the “Big” posts on the Air Con Problems and as the weekend is here they might be of interest to have a read of - Dave 😊

I replaced mine last weekend on my 2014 j11 1.5dCi. It took 13 minutes to remove it from the vehicle, total 30 minutes to have it all back together. No need to remove bumper, just remove the plastic trim above it, unbolt the 2 connection pipes and lift it out. There at Least 2 good videos on YouTube showing this in detail.
