Air Con
Hi. New to forum, we bought (wifes car) a 2016 Qashqai 1500 N TEC DCI 21000 on clock in Jan this year nice car but I did notice that when I got to use it that the air con was not great (I told the wife) so I eventually took it back to the dealer last month, they gave it a quick check and said mmm not working very well so booked it in and today they said it had to be topped up at £200.00 cost, why I said at that mileage now 26000 and year it should not need a top up unless there is a leak. thet said every 2 year the air con needs servicing they but a die in and Im taking it back in 2 weeks so Im asking are there any issue with the air con on these Qashqai

Welcome to this forum
There is much discussion about this on this forum just waiting for you to discover it.
Leaky condensers are a widespread problem for the Mark 2 Qashqai - mine was replaced at 2.75 years under warranty (and c19,000 miles). So you might find you've got a bill for around £500 I'm afraid.

Oldman64, you ain’t that old at 64 but welcome to the Forum. This problem you have is “most” likely down to a Defect / Leaking Condenser. This is a known major problem of the Nissan QQ and you would be wise to push the issue with Nissan as it will cost.
Please take a look at the attachment and if you have time go into “Search” and read the relevant posts on “Air Con” and you will get the feedback you need on both the Condenser and Gassing - hope this is of help Dave

Hi again. As suggested by the dealership I took the car back for them to recheck the air con and they found that it has lost some pressure and gas, they said the condenser is going to be replaced under warranty so the I asked for the £200.00 back that I had to fork out for the top up which they did so a result there I think. Now when I took the car in originally the dealership did say that every 2 years Nissan recommend that the air con should be serviced !! WHAT so has anyone heard of this and if correct or is it a con, what is there to service does anyone take there fridge freezer back to the shop every 2 years for a service NO.

Purchased our qq 67 plate, within 5 weeks of purchase air con failed.
The usual dribble and fob off, told by main dealer would be chargeable if just a regass, I said "no way, cars under warranty, my mech reckoned its likely condenser issue and only had it 5 weeks I'm not paying a penny", also refused to pay for courtesy car.
Car in at main dealer today, completely empty of gas, so regassed and dye test done and advised to return in 2-3 weeks for leak testing.
Whilst in, car also had free replacement battery (due to known faults) and recall work done on ieb system.
Will keep you updated when go back in 2-3 weeks, still think it's going to be the full replacement job
