hello
i am planning to buy that car but not sure about that 1.2 engine. Is it good? found various opinions on web about that engine and some talks about oil leakage??
i use car 30/70 city/motorway, but once in a year we go to road trip cca 5k km in total, usualy 4 persons and roof box. do u think that engine is good for what i need? could that roadtrip be a hard cookie for that engine?
thanks

Welcome to this forum.

There is extensive and recent discussion on this matter elsewhere on here - spend a careless hour wandering and discover.

It sounds like you should also research the 1.5dci option, subject to the distances you cover on a daily basis. It would certainly but much more economical and relaxed on a 5000 km drive.

Yeah.. i have diesel peugeot 308 now. Great car but i am afraid of bad thing that could happen with diesel engines on short drives like i do most of the year. Home to work and back 10 km. When i get there, engine is still cold and that is why EGR ventil died 2 times (2k eur) in 1 year on my golf 1.6 tdi (2012) last year. Now i don't want to have same problem w peugeot 308(2016) diesel.
I think 1.2 nissan is quite good for what i need but not sure about that long distance roadtrip.

Honestly I don't see what the "long distance" concern is.

You might have to change down for hills but otherwise it should be OK.

Davor, totally agree with Gloucester. We have the 1,2L motor and it is a great motor IMHO and quite. Last year we travelled to Munich from Berlin (600Kms) and then on to Saarbruecken (450Kms) and back using the Cruise Control as much as possible. Never missed a Beat but you do need to use the Gearbox a bit more due to the engine power but not a problem - Dave 👍
