Anyone else into detailing?

Beardyman / Quacker, I think the Term is "Retired"or "Put out to Grass" because I wash the wife's QQ every 3 weeks and that is since Aug 14. Before we had two Black Nissan's now a White one. I have even given it a complete Polish and now just waiting to get the Summer Tekna Wheels back on to give them a clean.
Incidently I bought a nice small Foldup Step Ladder from Lidl for a‚¬12 last year and it was still being advertised here to reach the middle of the roof and it is now a Doodle. Nissan do sell a Stand Device that fits over the Tyre, for the Rear it is OK but for the Front useless - Keep on Cleaning ! Dave

I actually saw this Nissan Step yesterday Installed for Show at our Dealer on a QQ J11B. If of interest (for the Rear OK) here are the facts but I still prefer my Lidl Ladder - Dave 😁

Hiya, just collected our car today. 16 plate QQ Tekna1.5dci in Ink Blue. Now going to start the big clean, going to start on seat and give them a conditioner love the leather smell. What do you guys recommend on interior polish cleaner ?
And what’s the best stuff to clean the outside black plastic to keep it nice and shiny. Any hints tips appreciated
Thanks Ian

Enjoy the car, Ian...and in the best colour if you ask me, the Main Dealer didn't have any pre-registered QQ's in that colour so I went with Magnetic Red, which I'm more than happy with.

Mine has been at Clean Detail in Doncaster for the last 3 days having a 2 stage machine polish and Gyeon ceramic coatings applied to all surfaces, wish I would have grabbed a picture or two before it started to rain as the car looks amazing.

The guys at CD used Gyeon Trim on mine and all the black plastic looks very good indeed.

Lank, see if this post helps you if not try using the “Search” Area as there might we’ll be some more tips. I use “Mothers” Back to Black Spray but I did buy this in the US and it was New last year, but just used end of last week no marks on paint work it’s clear. I use for Polishing Internally and externally Maquires Spray Polishes, but do not forget always after washing the car - no scratches. If you can afford the Professional Way Great, but I do get some pleasure on the final look of the QQ when done yourself. So take a look it might well help you - Dave 😊

This was it after Friday’s once over :

Beautiful..Dave...you have done an excellent job...the main reason I went down the Professional route was the condition of the paint, even though the QQ only had 8 miles on the clock when I bought it, the damage to the paint, as in swirl marks and marring was on every panel all caused by the Main Dealer Sponge Jockey as he washed the car with his bucket full of grit.

Plus, every panel had to be perfect before the ceramic coating could be applied, hence the 2 stage machine polish.

Now that what I call a nice shine Dave car looks great. I will try the mother’s back to black and see how I get on with it. I too get pleasure from giving car a good polishing. Trouble is I think I am the only person in my road who seems to wash polish their car and feel a bit of a prat spending all day cleaning

Can I ask how much this cost you ? I'm interested in getting mine mopped, as it too is full of small scratches & swirls. PM if you don't want to make it public knowledge ;)
