Just a thought, if heavy rain can affect the radar, many moons ago I had a Mini and heavy rain could stop the car because the distributor was just behind the grill, it got wet and shorted out. A squirt with hair lacquer sorted that problem out, wonder if the same could be applied to the radar connections?

I wonder if its electrical connections or just the radar itself picking up too many objects?

I have tried today to wipe it clean and protect with a car wax layer but hasn't changed the fault not happening

Hey people.

So a visit today to Nissan and checks done.

There was a fault code recorded and the English translation from Jap comes out as "stain in vision"

This doesn't translate to dirty camera lense but a portion of the camera view isnt working properly.

So a few reasons were given forward and warranty job to replace the camera has been placed to rectify the issue.

Actually a spot on guy today chatting about it and other things. Also theres no known recalls for the 69 plate model either.

He did explain that although the dash said "Radar" it is actually the camera that's fitted just below the nissan badge.

Hope this helps others.

My new QQ tekna+ has had a couple of issues with the high tech stuff!

The radar has turned off a couple of times in heavy rain each time for half a minute or so.

On a couple of occasions I've had random warning beeps and an orange triangle appear (not necessarily together) for a second when I've passed something a bit close (I think) although no lasting message appears to advise me what it thought happened!

Mine mentioned the warning about the radar and never reactivated until engine off and back on, on all 3 occasions in heavy rain.

Oh.... I saw this on Facebook but when I read it, it said it was to do with the Xtrail and other models but not the QQ.

Good to know.. although in my case I habent had the brakes come on... just warm me in heavy rain that the collision radar isn't active.

Yesterday they checked some documents in front of me and said theres no recalls on mine... I guess yet?

I booked by QQ N Connecta in today for a 2 year service and was told there is an update or recall on the 'radar collision avoidance' outstanding which they will do when it goes in early next month.
