I purchased my QQ tekna from Vw Hayseldon as a non franchised vehicle 3 weeks ago only to find the drivers heated leather seat doesn’t work so I booked it in for a diagnostic under warranty. The heating pads are faulty which I’ll had already guessed.
I collected it later in the day as it was getting dusk...the following day i noticed a mark on the rear seat and thought I’d burnt it with a cigarette.A closer look showed it wasn’t.I telephoned Vw hayseldon ‘who’ did admit the technician put his torch on it and reported his error to the manager ‘who’ failed to mention it or do anything about it!
It’s going back tomorrow for ‘repair’.Repairing leather isn’t something I know much about so not sure what this will look like as it’s grained leather but I shall be inspecting this very closely.
Absolutely appalled by the incompetence of some people!

What kind of torch is that? I had a similar burn on my drivers seat when I bought the car which I thought immediately was a fag. I certainly gave this dealer some rattle....WestWay

Mines a cloth seat and the dealers roaming seat repair contractor couldn't patch it right...two goes at it with some on site mixed gunge.

I called an auto upholstery company nearby in the W. Mids who would not repair the cloth seat. Matching materials? He wanted to replace the seat panel..damaged panel cut out and new panel stitch back in. £100 per seat. They do leather and a Wheeler Dealer vid is here...same firm:

Calnorth...I presume an led that got hot and melted the leather.
I’m willing to let them have a go at repairing but if I can see any evidence it’s still there then I want a new seat!

LEDs won't get hot and they are contained anyway. Thats more like a soldering iron or similar....Fag! Is it a chemical burn?

My mistake was to let them have a go. They won't match that leather. Its a replacement leather cover to match everything else I'd say.

Good Luck..!

As I was expecting not a good repair!
I’ve insisted a new seat base.

They've had to cut and paste a piece in...from elsewhere. That piece would be glued to the inner base I expect which likely makes it difficult to remove the whole base seat cover itself.

It really does look...a mess

They’ve actually filled it and then sprayed over it,it’s a mess and not acceptable.
I’m not paying £10,000 and accepting a repair!

The first fill I had on the cloth seat cover came off within 3 days.

Today I’ve had my heated front seat repair, new base and back heater pads fitted.
However I’m still waiting on Vw to sort the terrible repair out on the rear seat that they damaged.
Incidentally the rear seat cover from my local Nissan dealership for the base is £810 +vat...glad I’m not paying for that!
