Hi all members. I am new to this forum. I have one question if anyone can help me.
I have nissan qashqai J11 2016 Reg. Looks like the battery is dying and wanted to replace new one
currently it has Varta silver dynamic agm
I did some research and found out if car has AGM battery it has to be replaced with AGM
My question is Do I need to get some professional installation like RAC or Halford because it says the battery has to be link with ECU of the car after installation or can I just install like old traditional battery?
your help will be really appreciated.

Hi Dave thanks for your reply I have seen these treads but It wont answer my question.
I wanted to know Is it possible to change AGM battery by myself or do car need to be linked to new battery by some professional software?

It does need registering using software and I think that AGM Batt should be EFB. Do you have RAC membership?

As you said if it's AGM presently it should be an AGM replacement - unless the battery's already been replaced with an upgraded AGM one.

You could put what you liked in...no warnings against it. But production QQ is EFB, Avoid FIAMM Batts of course

My car came up with auto start errors today and would not start. Nissan sent out RAC under warranty (it's a March 2017 Qashqai 1.5). Mechanic said after hooking up the diagnostics thatit was AGM battery. A few years ago Nissan switched to the cheaper AGM batteries, but they are failing like crazy. So he got it replaced with a non AGM battery of better quality fixed under warranty. Apparently the newer cars have switched away from AGM batteries.
