MAP UPDATE QUERY

Hello, to all. I am new to this and this is my first post so please be gentle with me. I have just bought a 2018 Qashqai and was wondering about Sat Nav updates. I've been all over the place in the onboard computer and I cannot see anywhere to "UPDATE MAP." Is all the info stored on the SD card and how do I update ? Any help would be appreciated.

Hi...if there were an update you would get it at Nissan service. There is no update map function..its a new SD card. Call the Nissan dealer or Nissan HQ direct. TBH...not all Nissan dealers are helpful at this.

Mine certainly wasn't...refused to give me a new card even thought there was a new version out before I bought the car, said I had to wait until the first service.

Interesting...when mine goes in for its first service we'll see if they update to the latest v4 card.

Mines in on the 16th Dec for 2nd service. They asked me at booking if I had any comment on stuff to be addressed. I mentioned that the map needs updating and so its been noted...it appears?

Don't have the SD option on my QQ, went the USB method and was fairly straightforward. Stuck a blank USB into the car, put the version info onto it from the cars system, went to laptop and downloaded Nissan's map update tool software, put the USB in the PC, downloaded UK South & UK North/Ireland.

Now just waiting for an opportunity to go for a long drive as i've heard on here the update itself can take a while. Anyone any idea just how long?

Map update won't take long. How long did it take to put on usb stick from nissan website ?

UK North & Ireland = 1.2GB
UK South = 0.8GB
All Maps = 16GB

It will depend entirely upon the speed of your broadband.
