Should I get it fixed by a mechanic or visit bigger shop like Nissan dealers?
It could be that. Nissan call it an IN-VEHICLE SENSOR which responds to temperature change. Electrically its a Thermistor

Its a small special item that only Nissan can supply and under the Aircon/Heater Controller in the picture above

In-vehicle Sensor
In-vehicle sensor measures temperature of intake air that flows through aspirator to passenger room. The sensor uses a thermistor
which is sensitive to the change in temperature. The electrical resistance of the thermistor decreases as temperature increases.

A blower resistor replacement is a DIY affair - there is a parallel topic at present discussing it.

If it is this it's much cheaper to try it yourself. There's lots on eBay. Replacement involves taking out the glovebox (that just unclips - instructions elsewhere here) , pulling off the connector, replacing the resistor and putting it back together again.

I haven't done it on a Qashqai but did it on my Fabia - I bought a new chinese part on eBay for about £7.

Of course that depends on whether it IS the resistor. On my Fabia I lost the ability to select speeds but could still turn it on and off. Needless to say the Qashqai will have more electrocutions involvement.

Its a thermistor...not a common resistor. The graph above is the Nissan sensor characteristics that can be tested for.

Just to confuse matters even more Nissan actually call it a "TRANSISTOR" - here's the maintenance manual:

The same problem occurred recently on this thread. Appears to be the NTC Resistor (Thermistor ) fault?

The part number for Nissan Qashqai resistor is 27761100A26. It is not available on Euroacarpart or any other leading car part websites. Nisaan is selling very high price.
On eBay many versions are available. My mechanic is saying buy a "old" one rather than "new" one from eBay as new one does not fit properly.

Please suggest where to buy and does old ones are better ?

Typical Nissan and thats the only place to get it...or a scrap yard.

You can test the Nissan Thermistor with a testmeter reading resistance (ohms). Connect to testmeter and put Thermistor in cold and hot water. Resistance will change similar to graph I posted above. Ask your electrician to test like this. If its faulty then follow this below.

However. there are cheap standard commercial versions that span the same temperature range (and resistance). Below is one in Poland on eBay UK.£5 delivered from Poland.

Search eBay UK for this:

NTC 20K 3950 Temperature Sensor 1M 2M PVC Cable Waterproof Probe Thermistor

The resistance range is similar to Nissan at 0 to 20k ohms. All others are 0 to 10k ohms which is no good. You can buy this 20k version and try it. The only difference could be as to whats in the Nissan Thermistor unit other than the Thermistor resistor. Also, the Thermistor sensor at the front car radiator is the same as the interior Heater sensor. It measures ambient (external) temperature....same temperature range as interior sensor.

If you get the one from Poland it can be soldered into the old Thermistor wiring...easy I think.
