Do you have the AdBlue facility on your 2019 Qashqai ?
Thanks

The Nissan App. is next to useless, in my opinion.
You don’t need it to use the SatNav, radio or phone

I have a 2017 N Connecta petrol and love it. Yes, I've had a couple of niggling problems, but I'm very happy with it overall. I'm now waiting for the hybrid version to come out.

As for your worries, Mostyn, I firmly believe that you wouldn't buy ANYTHING if you took too much notice of comments and reviews. I've seen reviews of cars which have as many cons as pros, but are then given four stars out of five - they'd never give five, anyway. My hobby is photography, and it's the same with camera reviews.

The beauty of this forum is that there is a wealth of experience here that you can tap into if anything does go wrong, which it probably won't.

Enjoy your car!

Hi Mike,
I've yet to discover just exactly what the Nissan Connect app does as I had registration issues, but I plan to complete the registration this evening and see just what the app offers.

My car does have an Ad Blue filler cap but as my last 2 diesels didn't have Ad Blue I have yet to establish exactly what I'm supposed to do with it.

I've just completed the Nissan Connect app registration and although it isn't a patch on Android Auto it is one way to do voice searches.
The Nissan Connect app gives you access to the built-in apps, Tripadvisor, Eurosport, Facebook and Google Search. While these don't sound much, both the Tripadvisor and Google Search apps do allow you to search via voice recognition.
I've just tried some random restaurants, the industrial estate in which I work and even Red Funnel Ferry in Southampton and it found them without issue. You then click on the result you want and choose to either Call or Start (to navigate). You can also Save the result for later use. I'll continue to explore the other features of the apps and let you know what I find.

Dave,
Is there a way to check the remaining mileage of the Ad Blue whenever you wish or are you only notified of the remaining mileage at set intervals?
I'm curious as to how much mine has in it as it has done 13k but was serviced on Saturday during which I presume topping up the Ad Blue is part of?

Mostyn - if your car is 18 months old I believe it shouldn't have AdBlue - that was introduced about 16 months ago.

Check out Nissan's press release dated 13/9/18:

https://uk.nissannews.com/en-GB/releases/release-426233300-upgraded-nissan-qashqai-diesel-delivers-more-power-more-performance-lower-emissions

That's good and bad news - good that you don't need AdBlue including the problems some people have reported - but bad in terms of your emissions level being lower (number = Euro6b rather than Euro6d) / higher (actual measure) and potentially to be caught by traffic regulations in the future earlier than an AdBlue equipped one.

Check out the handbook page 5-4:

AdBlue® status
You can check the AdBlue® fluid level in the tank or system fault status using The [Maintenance] option from the [Settings] menu in the vehicle information display, see “Maintenance” in the “2. Instruments and controls” section.

If you select the [AdBlue Status] option when there is a system fault present, an [AdBlue fault] warning will be displayed, see “AdBlue® fault” later in this section.

If there are no system faults present, one of the following messages will be displayed, depending upon the level of fluid in the tank, and whether your display is set to km/h or MPH:

[ diagrams in handbook ]

If the remaining range is less than 800 km (500 miles) the status message will display the estimated number of remaining km (miles).

etc. etc
