Hi guys,
I have a issue where I put the key into the car, it is struggling to turn in the ignition. It takes me a few minutes to get it to turn.
The strange thing is if I now i get car started, then take the key out. Then put the key straight back in again, it works as normal. This leads me to believe it is issue with the ignition.
I believe this is a common issue according to Nissan Qashqai https://brinnick-autolocksmiths.co.uk/is-your-nissan-car-key-getting-stuck-in-the-ignition/
Can anyone suggest what be the next best steps and how much is it likely to cost to repair?

This is a common problem on Nissans.
Part of the barrel gets worn and the keys get jammed in the ignition
Garage's or main dealers charge £400 + to fit a new ignition barrel but then its extra to code in the new keys
We charge £130 in total to repair the ignition barrel (or £100 if the customer takes out the barrel themselves).
We are able to do the repair and use the existing keys. This includes re-cutting the key blades so that they are as if they had just come out of the factory.
