The Battery being fitted by the RAC with Nissan approval..as mine 2 weeks back. Its a Varta AGM type battery which performs better than the EFB type and according to RAC. You can check that this is the correct battery for your vehicle on the Varta website:
Don't worry Dave..you have a Varta of the correct original spec which must be far better than FIAMM at production. What I gathered from the RAC is that they did not agree with Nissan on a direct Varta EFB replacement. I suppose Nissan said ok, get a Varta AGM at the same price...thats it. Here mine is and dressed up differently to the market one I posted above:DaveBerlin wrote: βThu Mar 12, 2020 10:32 am Hi Colin, you are getting me concerned with your VARTA Vehicle Check website. I cannot find our Battery Number - not available, so it looks like another job lot from VARTA for Nissan. I have actually checked our QQ against what is at the Dealer and itβs the same Spec, so I am going to relax as our QQ functions OK - Dave
Den, best of luck but I think you will find satisfaction with a new Battery
You can change it but it will have to be configured to the car (registered) by an electronic tool. That tool (Nissan/Panasonic) only the RAC and Nissan dealers have. If you are with the RAC they might do it out of good will? If they've tested yours and they did not get REPLACE appearing on their test tool screen they cannot replace for free. Free if its in a valid warranty period.
