I test drove a 2014 Qashqia the other day and loved it, was about to buy it but after reading all the online reviews, expert, on the usual sites and watching YouTube reviews and especially reading all this lot:

https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-review ... e17e2a584b

I am having second thoughts.

The general consensus is that Qashqias are totally unreliable and will break down every minute. I was looking at the 2015 shape.

Really guys, are they this crap?

I've read about the satnav/infotainment units packing up like clockwork and people having to spend hundreds at Nissan for a replacement, which also goes wrong a year later, and loads of engine trouble, diesel and petrol.

And no, this is not a troll, I'm just wondering if I should write this car off and look at another SUV brand instead.

Thanks in advance.

After I bought my Qashqai I found this site and was quite worried. Now on my second Qashqai and never even had a misfire or problem. I sold a solid German car to buy it and do not miss it. Equipment and comfort are excellent. The worst car I have ever owned was a 6 week old Mercedes. It shut down the engine management system in the fast lane, in heavy rain and surrounded by lorries. I was lucky to survive that. Sold it 2 weeks later at 2 months old.
There is always a certain amount of luck and bad luck in buying any sophisticated machine whatever the make. Think these forums attract more bad press than good which is natural if you feel let down. I would have no problem in buying a 3rd Qashqai. Good luck with your decision.

Thanks Qashpad, makes sense. I've had several BMW cars and whenever I've owned BMWs in the past I have always been skint and my cars have always been in the garage every few months needing some sensor or another replacing at £500 a pop.

We had a 2014 QQ 1,2L Tekna / Manual for 5 years during that time the main problems we had were FIAMM Battery, Air Con Condenser and some small electronic problems Battery related. Luckily we never had a miss beat with the 1,2L Motor. The QQ was always Nissan Serviced and personally I liked the QQ so much that we bought the new J11B which is way better with the new engine and DCT Auto Box. As mentioned the Negatives are stated the Positives not so often - Dave 😉

I must admit I do really like my Qashqai, it's lovely to drive and very comfortable and up to press it's not been to bad, other than the battery causing a few niggles.

But, I don't have the same confidence in it that I had in my old T30 X-TRAIL, I really miss the old Xy.

I had a 2019 Tekna+ 160 1.3 for 10 months and couldn't praise it enough, brilliant engine etc etc, I now have a Q50 which in my opinion really is the bees knees, they can stick their German cars up their firm buttocks as far as I'm concerned.... And yes, I've had VWs and Beemers in the past.
