I have a Qashqai N-Conecta DIG-T 1332CC car and a OnePlus 5T phone running Android Oxygen 9.0.11.

A month ago I setup Android Auto and all was working fine.

Now when I connect the usb cable to the phone the apps button on the car screen enables but when i click on "Android Auto" then nothing happens.

I connected my wife's Hauwei P20 phone which runs Android 9.1.0.274 and it worked. However my phone originally worked.

I have done the following:
1. Used the original OnePlus 5T cable and another usb-c cable but neither work
2. Updated my phone to the latest firmware
3. Removed android auto from my phone and reinstalled
4. Updated the car software to the latest which is 0821 and map version is 15041_0_3

None of the above work. Any advice would be appreciated.

I occasionally get a glitch with my iPhone where CarPlay doesn’t work properly.

I have found that having the phone unlocked (i.e. ready to text or phone someone) and the car engine running so the the Connect system working before plugging in the USB cable gives 100% success.
It’s a very minor pain in the posterior but far less painful than not being able to use CarPlay.

It’s sad that these workarounds are needed, my mat's Tiguan seems to work first time every time.

Hope that helps

I had a similar issue on a Samsung S8. Try finding the Android Auto link under Apps on the headunit itself. Just going in there seemed to sort this out.... though it took a few attempts before pressing that option did anything.

Note: I was guided to do this by Nissan CS.

Just a punch in the dark but worth start the engine when connect has started up hold down the power button until it turns off then release then when it comes back on try it again

Software 0821 fixes bluetooth pairing issues and rebooting issues and was released in february
No software issues for android auto as of yet

These units should work at the Factory Default state. So both need to be Reset to that state. What loaded Apps do to a phone after that nobody knows...its not a place known for standards adherence.

Factory Reset will mess up your phone so save important data first. Start in a "clean" state and with Android Auto loaded first. Add favoured Apps after Auto Play works OK...if it does?

The aim is to get any settings disabled that may hold up connection. It appears some can that are not obvious to users....this is a place you don't want to go.

So I've solved/worked around the problem.

I reinstalled my phone and it all worked. Obviously some app or update caused it to stop working.

Thanks for the responses.
