Guys any recommendations on which one to get to just check and clear fault codes - for a Nissan QuashQai 2012 1.5dci.

I've had a search on the forum but can't find any recent recommendations on working ones.

You likely won't see much here. Its a very iffy subject since those that are cheap will be Chinese knock offs (ELM32 types). Software knocked off as well so out of date. There have been reports that the pins can burn due to heavy current discharge...bad hardware. Can damage the cars OBD socket.

They will be limited in what they can reset because of safety issues. What you might see as regards error codes may not always be accurate. I paid £50 for something partially professional (not a knock off)...not needed it yet.

I have used and am still using an iCarsoft i810, they make specific readers for various car manufacturers. Not cheap but imo well worth the money.

thanks all, found my old one in the old mk4 golf so grabbed that and used it with the Torque app that I had bought a few years back and it worked well enough to get me the codes and allow me to clear them :)
