Hiya,
Newbie looking for help. My new battery goes flat after a couple of weeks of not using the car and I get locked out.
No problem. .. I went to open the bonnet, the manual door key does not work ... er why? .. er because the battery is flat? .. Crazy?
I was in the garage trade years ago, I managed to get the door open by jumping the starter motor while using the fob,
(getting underneath putting 12volts to the starter/battery cable). I opened the bonnet, got the car started, went on a run and charged the battery.
So now I have a fully charged new battery and cleaned battery connections, full service, low mileage Qashqai with 2 working key fobs.
I have installed a hidden makeshift way to open the bonnet (in case it happens again) and I'm all good to go.

QUESTION?
Why won't my manual key open or lock the door. It's not seized and working freely.
P.S. sorry about long drivel. regards Madmick

Welcome to this forum.

I'm surprised it wouldn't open the door.
