Hello everyone! New member here looking for a bit of Qashqai information.
Been looking at a 66 plate Qashqai is there anything to look out on them?
What spec comes on the n-connecta dig-t? Is it a standard spec out?

Here's an excerpt from a 2016 brochure - specs do vary slightly over time.

Actually it's quite a small file size so should attach

The 1.2 has good points and bad points:
Good
Surprisingly powerful considering the size of the car v. the size of the engine. You will have to drop a gear on steepish hills though.
The manual gearbox is much more reliable than the automatic.
It has a cam chain so no belts to replace - the chain lasts until around 180k miles.
Bad
There have been many failures reported with this engine and the prospect of that is why I got rid of mine - even though it was OK at the time (nearly 20k miles). What is the mileage of the one you're looking at? Although a 66 plate is in theory outside the VIN range of affected cars (mine was within it) there have been reports of more recent engines being affected. There is a LONG running topic on here dealing with this issue:

I would only entertain such a car with a comprehensive warranty which would cover engine replacement.

It has 17k on the clock and I would go for 3 year warranty on too from Nissan garage.
Thank you for the information you legend!
The 1.2 engine seemed alot better than the 1.5? Diesel

Generally you have to watch out for failed AC condensers but if you have a 3 year Nissan-backed warranty that should be fine - mine failed at 2.25 years. I also had an alloy replaced because of corrosion but I suspect the 19" Tekna alloys are more susceptible than the 18" ones (can anyone confirm that?).
I didn't try a diesel since my commute being only 2.5 miles each way I don't think was good for the two non-DPF Skoda diesels I'd had previously so only looked at petrols. I would say that when I traded my Qashqai in the salesman was relieved it was a petrol one - two years ago the market was very anti-diesel. I suspect they might have not taken it if it was diesel at that time.

Just to add it did seem that dealers that were not Nissan did try and push the diesel over the petrol. The 1.2 petrol seemed alot better drive than the 1.5 diesel.
