Storage compartment between driver and passesnger seats

Hi there, got a new Tekna in Oct, very pleased with it, I can't work out what the moulded shape is for in the storage compartment between the driver and passenger seats? It seems to be in the manual, but no explanation of its purpose? I have attached a photo. Any thoughts?

also, I had previously had a juke and this allowed "ECO mode" to be switched on through connect, and I left it on most of the time. With the new Qashqai seems I have to select ECO mode each time the car is started up, which is a pain. Anyone know why Nissan made it that ECO mode needs to be switched on each time?

Hi Happyhouse14, welcome to the forum. The shape in the compartment, I believe, is for loose coin storage.

Here is one of the older posts on this subject. I used it for €1 coins on the old QQ and use it the same in the new QQ - Dave

I use it to store a small torch.

Hi all, excellent, thanks for this, coin holder makes sense and a small torch would also be handy, I will have a think about both

Happyhouse14, this is really unbelievable ! I was at our Nissan Dealer today and asked our Sales Guy what this Form was - No Idea ! was the answer. I then asked the Service Mgr., a Service Technician - No Idea ! and then a Technician and he said he uses it for Coins

As I mentioned before I use ours for €1 Coins / Shopping Coin Discs - Dave
