Hello, I am new to this forum so apologies if not posting in the right place. I have a 2015 1.2L automatic Nissan Qashqai. I was wondering if anyone could shed some light on what could be causing this. We have had high oil consumption problems, multiple parts of tbe engine had to be changed, our fan had to be replaced, but we still have this horrible burning plastic/petrol type smell coming into tbe car. It is worse when the engine is on and the car is in traffic or stationary. The smell is so strong it makes me feel nauseated. It seems to come from somewhere around the drivers seat. Has anyone had this issue before? Its coming to a point that I am thinking of buying an air monitor to prove how bad it is to Nissan who cannot find an issue.

And you have checked under the bonnet? I had it once and it appeared to be the remains of a pigeon. Brought in and consumed by a marten.
