Yes, found that, only inspect and top up as necessary, no replacement of fluid. Not good.

Had the car serviced on Friday last, and asked regarding fluid change on CVT gearboxes and the service manager suggested every 40-50k miles and the charge was £199. They had had a number of enquiries regarding CVT gearbox fluid change in the last months interestingly.

I have a similar gear box problem for my automatic Nissan Qashqai . Gear box getting heated up. Car slowing down not accelerating.
Given this is an extremely high cost, could you kindly let me know what my options are:
1. Applying for a goodwill offer from Nissan - How do I do it?
2. Is any of this covered OR could be covered under Nissans manufacturers warranty (after 5 years)?
3. Do i have the option of offsetting any of this cost if I want to upgrade to a new car

Welcome to this forum

Out of interest what is the exact age (you infer 5 year above so a 2017 car?) and mileage?

1. First of all ask your normal dealer for their opinion of what might be wrong with the car. Then assuming it is the gearbox, do you have a FULL Nissan main dealer service history? If not, Nissan are very unlikely to help out. If you do have a watertight service history, either get the dealer to contact Nissan Customer Services or contact them direct to discuss. You might get a partial offer.

2. It WOULD be covered by an EXTENDED warranty but is NOT covered if the normal warranty has run out.

3. No one has reported even pursuing the option of cost offsetting never mind succeeded.

An alternative is to contact a non-Nissan, Nissan CVT specialist of which there are several around - details elsewhere on here - and discussing it with them.

Good luck!

Our car has full Nissan servie history and has only done 60000 miles in less that 7 years. Been quoted £6000 for new gear box.

Welcome to this forum

What has the dealer suggested? Have you contacted Nissan UK yet to discuss?

Definitely agree with all the posters saying to check out a specialist Gearbox replacement or repair service. A lot of them will at no cost, tow your car, and provide a gearbox repair or replacement quote for you. If it's not worth it to proceed, some including this mob https://asrgearboxrepairs.co.uk/ will even offer to buy it from you. Luckily these little beauties keep their value, so the after-market gearbox repair is often worth it.

Hi I have a Nissan QASHQAI 2015 auto
Iim in Melbourne Australia
I'm just wondering if anybody else has had issues with their CTV transmission? And what did Nissan do about it?
When I initially bought in the car into Nissan there was no problem other than the red engine light appearing. Apparently after 14 diagnostics and $500 later.
Once returned the car engine was loud. It was shaking & juddering when accelerating.
I rang Nissan 10 minutes after leaving the center and they assured me that Nissan would fix it.
The car would losses power once over 70 / 80 KMs or the car bunny hopping.
At the low mileage & at 8 years old this is not okay!
It hasn't been abused & has been serviced according & logged. In my care independent mechanics never touched the CTV!
They gave me back the car and sent me on my way.. Nissan denied any fault or paying for the fault.
I'm appalled! months later still awaiting head office contact me.. I'm a single mum with 2 boys.. without a car
Has this happened to anyone else ??

Welcome to this forum.

You've posted the same query three times.

Reading the topics you've posted in will give you the background to the problems with Qashqai CVT transmissions.

Nissan may contribute if you have a full Nissan main dealer service history - it appears you haven't.

There are specialists in the UK who can deal with this issue - you may find one in Melbourne.
