mrugby, I agree that is exactly why I posted these reports just to indicate that actions can take place if efforts are made and possibly there does exist a UK Group of people trying to fight this problem - Dave 😊

If you look at the information on the Specifications I post on Nissan US vehicles you will see that there is a huge difference in the Specifications that are offered there hence the term “Fully Loaded” in comparison to our EU vehicles. Not only are the prices Low for what you get, but it is the volume of vehicles which are sold and that means Money.

Just as an example the No. of Registered Vehicles in 2020 were : US 286,9 Mio / UK 38,5 Mio / Germany 50 Mio. So just using these figures, who is Nissan going to look after, in my opinion the US hence the Payouts & Longer Guarantees.

Thanks Dave, good point, money is King, stuff the smaller nations. I tell you something, if I was in that group having to fork out 6 grand for a replacement gearbox I think a zero cost petition starting with social media would be my first option.
All it takes is someone affected to start it off and watch the snowball grow.

Hi Roy, I took a look again last night and found that there are similiar Law Sites in Canada, but can find nothing in the UK. I also found a report and a couple more Auto Gearbox Specialist Shops if of interest - Dave 🤨

What a worrying read that article was Dave.
How on earth have they got away with this so lightly ?
Fair play to the Americans / Canadians, they love their law suits over there, they don't mess around.
I hope our DCT auto boxes are not made by the same company and will be more reliable.
Good info by you again Dave.
I hope Roy and others will get something out of this. For the members who have been denied legitimate assistance
( if applicable ) by Nissan after giving them the option to do so, maybe you should look to see how other countries have tackled this issue and raise a legal challenge yourselves.

Gel, have you ever tried calling a Nissan MD or even sending emails with success ?, because most of time you get blocked or just no answers. I have often raised the question do Nissan / NCS as a Company monitor these Nissan Forums just to gain feedback on what the Customer : likes, dislikes or wishes - Dave 🤗

Just to let you know that i have paid £300.00 to have the transmissio fluid and filters changed. The vehicle now drives like a new car so well worth a try if you dont know what else to do

Many CVT gearbox "failures" are not the gears failing, quite often it is the gearbox control unit which in many cases is inside the gear box. This unit is an electrical unit which links your right foot with the gearbox telling it what to do.
The other problems with CVT gearbox is often lack of cooling of the transmission fluid which Nissan are one of the worst apparently, so the fluid needs to be changed at regular intervals. I have yet to find it in my service book :( On my last car I changed the fluid every 40k miles, but on buying the car changed it immediately then every 40k miles.
Touch wood, with the two cars, my Mercedes B Class and current QQ both with CVT gear boxes they covered well over 160k miles with as yet no problems.

Qashowner, when looking in our German (No Translation :D ) Nissan Manual (P449) there are facts stated for the CVT for example : CVT Xtronic Gearbox Oil R9N / Amount 8,2L / Original Nissan-NS-3-CVT-Oil Do not use other Oil as this can damage the CVT and this is not covered by Guarantee.
Just a TIP it might well be only out here, but on our 2014 QQ and now the 2019 Tekna + there were copies of pages stuck in the very front area of the Service Book - Why no idea ! But for example for our DCT it does state 48 mths / 120,000 kms / DCT Oil Change HR13 / 4,0L - it might well be worth a check Dave :)
