Hello,
New to forum. Have a positive report. Complete gearbox failure on 2013 1.6 Tekna CVT. (only 49000 miles and FSH). Nissan Dealer quoted £5400 to replace, with their assistance Nissan agreed contributed approximately 50% of repair as FSH, customer who has bought 4 previous Nissans (from Dealer) and low mileage. Perhaps might have been possible to up contribution to 60%, but not sure, so settled for that. Nissan arranged an Automatic Courtesy Car for 8 days. Positive outcome. however it does seem a problem with this CVT box as dealer said replacement box has " the " modification.
My next query is regarding a rattle on front passenger window. How do I post query in right area etc?
Regards

I can't help but feel they should have put the majority, if not all towards a new cvt box. If you've purchased from, and only ever serviced with Nissan on time then I feel there's no justification for a premature fail, thats the whole point of ensuring the car is serviced correctly and within the mileage/time specified and not to mention Nissan charge more to do the same job, but I'd imagine there point of view is they use genuine parts and oils which is why I find this situation baffling.Roger Wales wrote: ↑Tue Oct 12, 2021 1:21 pm Hello,

Either way, I'd imagine faced with a large bill and then being offered it at half price plus transportation is, at the time a relief haha.

Welcome to this forum
Rare to hear of a decent contribution - but clearly the history helped a lot.

"there's no justification for a premature fail"
Maybe 'premature' is not even the right word for a Nissan 2013 CVT with 50.000 miles !?
There may be good reason Nissan was forced to pay for CVT replacements in the US.
I choose not to order an xtronic CVT J12 because of these premature problems ... not willing to take the risk.
None of my previous Manual Transmission cars ever needed clutch replacement before 100k miles and even then after 100k miles that repair was below 1000 pounds.

The J12 Xtronic is at least the 3rd generation, and most failures, as far as I can find, were on the 1st generation used on the J10. I have driven CVT gearboxes for at leats 14 years and covered some 150,000 miles in that time, never had a failure, but I do change the transmission fluid every 40k miles.QaiFan wrote: ↑Wed Oct 13, 2021 3:18 pm "there's no justification for a premature fail"

Hi I have a Nissan QASHQAI 2015 auto
Iim in Melbourne Australia
I'm just wondering if anybody else has had issues with their CTV transmission? And what did Nissan do about it?
When I initially bought in the car into Nissan there was no problem other than the red engine light appearing. Apparently after 14 diagnostics and $500 later.
Once returned the car engine was loud. It was shaking & juddering when accelerating.
I rang Nissan 10 minutes after leaving the center and they assured me that Nissan would fix it.
The car would losses power once over 70 / 80 KMs or the car bunny hopping.
At the low mileage & at 8 years old this is not okay!
It hasn't been abused & has been serviced according & logged. In my care independent mechanics never touched the CTV!
They gave me back the car and sent me on my way.. Nissan denied any fault or paying for the fault.
I'm appalled! months later still awaiting head office contact me.. I'm a single mum with 2 boys.. without a car
Has this happened to anyone else ??
