Hi There,Just booked the 1.2L Turbo from our local singapore sole authorised dealer, Tan Chong Motors.Chosen color is pearl white and please also visit our local mycarforum's QQ threads from our QQ owners especially on this 1.2L Turbo version1.2L Turbo was introduced in Singapore from Jan 2015 while only 2.0L non turbo was available back in mid 2014.For those not aware, cars are super expensive in Singapore and this GBP19k 1.2L Turbo cost me GBP57k and not even with moon roof !!Hope to hear from members here especially on some of the quirkness which some Singapore owners reported and hopefully with resolution. Thanks and regards,Richard

Hi Richard and welcome to the Forum from way off. We have the Tekna Model / Manual similiar to that you have specified but an Aug 14 model and really like it. Where the hell does your price 3x the difference to the UK come from as most of your Singapore costs seem to be lower than the UK or are the Salaries that much higher. Is the reason all the Taxes and Import duties etc that makes this difference ? - Dave

Hi Dave,Thanks for the welcome. In our small red dot of Singapore, car ownership requires COE or Certificate of Entitlement to manage car population else no point having cars in this small island country of 5kk+ population. You bid for the COE on every fortnightly basis for about 1600 new COEs and last bid had already dropped to SGD55k or GBP27k. BTW, we can only keep the car with this COE which is valid for 10 years to encourage lesser old cars and associated breakdowns but if you insist, you can bid for another COE ... which some does for their high end Ferrari or Lambo or Aston. Detailed pricing breakdown is here for your reading pleasure:http://www.sgcarmart.com/new_cars/newca ... e=115301.2 DIG-T (A)View Loan Breakdown Current price$113,800Down Payment$45,520 (Maximum 60% loan)Installment (Normal Car Loan)$1,268 /mthInstallment (Citi Direct Car Loan)$1,222 /mth (change)Depreciation$11,000 /yr COE quota premium$55,889 (Category A COE)Road tax$508 /yr (Excl 2015/16 rebate)OMV$19,100ARF$14,100 (after CEVS rebate)CEVS$5,000 (Rebate)Total basic cost$94,650Premium20% Previous recorded price$116,800 Highest recorded price$136,800 (past 6 mths) Lowest recorded price$113,800 (past 6 mths)

Been only to Manchester in UK but think cost of living is probably about the same even though 1GBP=2SGD roughly and A yes, there is the gov tax of 175% excluding others e.g custom, gst of 7% etc. etc. and dealer's premium which in this case is stated as 20% of the OMV (original manufacturr value) or about GBP2k.
However, our incoming taxes are much lower at max of 50% if you make about SGD500k or GPB250k (not exactly sure since I do not have this "problem" haha) and say if A you makes SGD300k, you probably pay about 12% tax. As a fresh grad engineer of making say GPB20k per annum, you hardly pay any taxes .....
Think no bad an idea to tax luxury items like car which is really not a necessity in Singapore with mass rapid train, buses and cheap tax compared to UK which I think is a killing. A Same for other non basic needs of cigarettes at GPB6.5, a can of beer at supermarket for GBP1.5 but beer can easily cost GBP5 to 7 including all the service and good taxes at pubs and hotels.richard_crl0322015-08-03 14:50:54

Hi D1team,

Thanks !

Nice that you have all options except 4x4.

In singapore due to tax reason, very basic and lomited 1.2L turbo cvt and 2.0L cvt are available. Even our headunit are Chinese made with no camera, no park assist, no lane changing, no camera etc..frills else it will not be gbp57 but gbp65 or more !

Cheers !

Richard
